Friends of Flourishes
BETTY WRIGHT, Friends of Flourishes Design Team Coordinator
I am Betty Wright. I love stamping! I went to a home stamping party about 7 years ago and was hooked. There is something so thrilling about starting with a plain sheet of cardstock and creating my own designs with images. Then, to take those stamped designs and create a card that can bring laughter and hope to someone else is just amazing and awe-inspiring in itself. Stamping has truly become so much a part of me and what I do that I do not see it as a mere hobby. It is more of a way of life!

DEE JACKSON
Hi! It’s Dee. I was introduced to stamping when my husband and I were stationed at an Air Force Base in Kansas. It is a great state, but I don’t miss living in “tornado alley.” While in Kansas I was invited to a Stampin UP! party…I wondered, what is that? I was familiar with home décor or cooking parties, not stamping. Of course I wondered what we would be stamping. Curiosity got the best of me. I attended and fell totally in love.
I was a demo for many years but found myself seeking other companies that touched my soul and style. Flourishes was my first Design Team. Opening the email saying I had made the team was right up there with getting married, having kids, buying a house…you get the picture. Being on this team is just pure JOY.
My cards have been published in Paper Crafts and Paper Creations. I also have cards in several ads in Cards magazine.
I am blessed with two grown daughters and three beautiful granddaughters, and although we don’t live too close, we all visit eachother when we can. My husband and I have been married for 27 years. Sometimes I catch him using old stamping creations to give to co-workers and church members—he will even stamp on occasion with me. He is my biggest fan!

BECCA FEEKEN
I’ve been stamping for more than 10 years – or rather I should say “collecting”. My job with a large hotel company kept me traveling the better part of every month, with little crafting time other than to make a cute quick card for an occasion here or there. Leaving my job 2 years ago to take care of my husband and making the leap to a stay-at-home mom helped me refocus and devote some of my free time to this addicting hobby! I set a goal to use what I have and ink any un-inked stamps in the cabinet. I have a long way to go but I want to go a long way; I’m no longer a collector!
I couldn’t be more blessed which such good friends and a marvelous family. I’ve been married for 26 years and have a family of giants to prove it. I’m the shortest in the family at 5’ 10’ tall and have three children that tower over me and remind me that I need them…if for nothing else, to get things down from the cabinets. They make me prouder that I could ever describe in words and give me huge dose of support every day…that is with their dad, Enabler in Chief.

MAKI JONES
Hi everybody, it’s Maki. I was born and grew up in Tokyo, Japan until I got married. After 13 years of moving around the world as a military family, my husband and I finally settled down in the small town of Waskom, Texas. Although I was blessed to live in so many different places and meet so many wonderful people, I’m very happy the moving part of life is over! I’ve been married to my wonderful husband, Troy, for 14 years and we have one daughter and one son. I also live with 3 furry kids (cats): Handy Andy, Mustang Sally, Titanium Ty and a new member of our family—a dog named Lemon Lime.
My love of arts was started at very young age. My late father was an oil painter and I used to watch him painting in his studio for hours. One of my favorite things to do when I was a child was coloring. I guess it was natural that I was immediately hooked on stamping when I was introduced to it at an SU! workshop. I’ve enjoyed this hobby for about 5 years now and have become more serious about it in the last 2 years—ever since I started uploading my cards on my SCS gallery. All the encouragement and kind words make me keep stamping!
When I got my first Flourishes stamp set, I fell in love with their classic & elegant style. I just enjoy the process of making cards every time I use their stamps. I’m so thrilled to be a permanent member of FOF team!

SILKE LEDLOW
Hi everyone! My name is Silke Ledlow, and I live in the beautiful state of Georgia, close to Savannah. I’m married to my wonderful husband, Jerry. We celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary this past summer.
We have three beautiful daughters, Sarah, Rebecca, and Miriam. We also have a dog (boxer) named Luke.
I started stamping in 2001, and was pretty much hooked immediately. When I am not stamping, I enjoy reading, shopping, and hanging out with my friends and family.

BARBARA ANDERS
I live in South Central Virginia, right on the North Carolina line, in Martinsville (think NASCAR) with my husband and best friend, John, and our nine (yes, 9) rescue cats. I’m a registered nurse, currently working as a nurse manager for a home health agency, but I’m hoping to retire at the end of this year. I’ve always been a crafter–I can’t remember not either doing some sort of needlework or craft, even as a child, and was inspired by both of my parents to be creative with my hands. I also love to garden and that’s why I need to retire–I don’t have enough time now to do all the “fun” things I want to do.
I got into stamping in a round-about way. I started a small scrapbook about five years ago for an annual event we hosted and never expected to go much further with it. But while looking online for inspiration for layouts, I ran across blogs with cards and other paper crafts. I’d never done that and it looked like fun so I bought some stamps and supplies at a craft store and made some simple cards. Then I found a Stampin’ Up demonstrator who taught me a lot and the rest, as they say, is history–I was totally hooked. I found Splitcoast Stampers and studied all the galleries, learning from every card I saw and never looked back.
I’ve been a huge fan of Flourishes stamps from the beginning of my stamping “career”. I am so excited to be sharing my work with you and I’m so honored to be a part of this incredibly talented Friends of Flourishes team–it’s literally a dream come true!
